    Position Summary/Purpose

    Hexagon PPM is seeking a Cloud Presales Architect to grow and develop our business by working closely with our Sales organization to identify strategic customers, articulate their requirements, and architect industry solutions that meet their specific needs. The ideal candidate should possess a strong combination of customer-facing skills and in-depth technical knowledge in the areas of 2D/3D engineering modeling, information management, Cloud infrastructure & security, distributed systems integration, and solution architecture.


    The primary goals of this position are to a) drive growth in our Cloud business by working with regional Sales to articulate the value proposition of our Cloud offerings and handle potential customer objections around Cloud security, performance, integration, etc., b) architect Cloud solutions that meet the specific needs of our most important customers, and c) act as a bridge between Sales and Delivery to ensure smooth customer handoffs.


    The Cloud Presales Architect will also play a critical role in working as part of a cross-functional team consisting of members from Hexagon PPM’s Product, Cloud Operations, Professional Services, Support, and Sales teams to meet the needs of our most demanding customers. The Cloud Presales Architect will work with these organizations to architect the best possible Cloud solutions and to ensure that those solutions are implemented and supported in a secure, innovative, and reliable fashion.

    Responsibilities/Main Activities


    • Work with regional Sales and Business Development teams to articulate the value proposition of our Cloud offerings and handle potential customer objections around Cloud security, performance, integration, etc.
    • Architect Cloud solutions to meet the specific requirements of Hexagon PPM’s most strategic customers including performance, scalability, reliability, etc.
    • Attain “trusted advisor” status with IT and business executives within targeted accounts with the goal of creating a long-term partnership with customers
    • Work closely with regional Sales and Business Development teams to craft responses to customer RFIs and RFPs
    • Act as a bridge between Sales and Delivery in order to provide a seamless customer experience in the Cloud throughout the customer lifecycle
    • Set up, manage, and maintain Cloud Demo Environments and work with Product and Business Development teams to standardize demo datasets
    • Work closely with product organizations, professional services, support, and sales teams to ensure a world-class customer experience with Hexagon PPM’s Cloud offerings

    Qualifications and Experience Required

    The Presales Cloud Architect will have a strong background in architecting and designing complex customer solutions in Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services. The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience specifically focused on 2D/3D engineering modeling, information management, and systems integration in the heavy construction industry. The candidate must have a proven track record of working closely with customers in a consultative fashion to produce solutions that exceed their most challenging technical and business expectations. At least five years of Customer-facing experience either as a Consultant or a Presales Engineer is absolutely critical for success.


    Additional Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, etc.), Computer Science, or Information Systems
    • MBA or equivalent a plus
    • 3+ years of broad and deep technical experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services
    • 5+ years of experience as a customer-facing Consultant or Presales Engineer
    • Extensive experience in complex systems integration and data management
    • Strong background in consultative customer engagement for a midsized to large software company
    • Proven track record of working in a strategic advisory capacity to senior IT and business executives
    • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills, including extensive experience presenting to IT executives at large firms
    • Solutions-oriented mentality in an environment with multiple products and services
    • Proven ability to work seamlessly with distributed cross-functional teams to achieve success on behalf of customers
    • Strong balance of strategic and tactical skills, with a high level of intellectual agility and capacity for original thought
    • Experience with Hexagon PPM / Intergraph products a very strong plus
    • Willingness to travel up to 50%

    Current KPI Requirements

    Initially this role will be measred against achieving revenue targets whilst ensuring that the work meets required technical standards.
